The outgoing Governor Yahaya Bello has called on the people of Kogi state to embrace inclusive politics, devoid of divisive tendencies.
Bello while Speaking at the official opening and maiden matriculation ceremony of the new Kogi State University, Kabba at the University’s Campus in Kabba on Tuesday, Governor Bello said he feels fulfilled with the realization of his vision to establish a university in Okunland and successfully run it before the end of his administration.
He explained that it took strong focus and determination by his administration to ward off distractions during the initiation stages of establishing KSU Kabba.
Governor Bello, who was accompanied by the governor-elect, Ahmed Usman Ododo, said “I strongly encourage the people of Kogi State to embrace politics of inclusion, steering away from the divisive pull-him-down approach.”
Despite numerous distractions during the initiation of this University, my unwavering focus allowed me to overcome challenges and remain dedicated to our goals.
”I am fulfilled. We made education a key focus, and I’m pleased that we are rated one of the best in the country in education,” Bello noted.
The Vice Chancellor of Kogi State University, Prof. Kehinde Imisi Eniola, described the official opening of the University and the matriculation as a fulfilment of Governor Bello’s love for education.

The Vice Chancellor described the new institution as one that would focus on citizenship and leadership training, adding that the University would run digitally towards making the students ready for the future.
Prof Eniola described the KSU as the preferred and superior brand for academic excellence, praising the administration of Governor Yahaya Bello for what he called his unquenchable love for education.
The Obaro of Kabba, Oba Owoniyi, was full of praises for the Governor, lauding him for his outstanding repositioning of the Traditional stool of Kabba and for giving the area a University.
A total of 967 students were matriculated today
Dignitaries from all walks of life including the deputy governor-elect, Comrade Joel Oyibo Salifu, Speaker Kogi State House of Assembly, Rt Hon Aliyu Umar Yusuf, deputy Speaker, Rt Hon Unwuchola, Secretary to the Government of Kogi State Mrs Folashade Ayoade Arike, commissioners and other top government functionaries.
